ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPCOMING EVENTS

This Weeks Families - Each week there will be 3 families from our church that you can include in your prayers for the week.  None of us know what challenges each family in our church may be facing.  The families for this week are:

Faith Evangelism - Faith meets each Monday night starting at 6:30pm.  Faith Bakers for this week is Belynda Jenkins, Linda Douglas, Jamie Snyder & Sherry Ogle. 

Mens Saturday Morning Bible Study - We will be taking a break until AWANA starts back this fall.

First Place Weekly Meetings - Sunday Afternoons starting @ 5:30 - 6:45.  The meetings are located in the WWSS class room.  The new session study is THE LEGACY.

Wanted - Books, used or new for Frakes Elementary School children grades Pre-K thru 8th grade.  Collection boxes are located in the back of the hallway and will remain until the new school year.

Kids Corner

Sunday School rotation - 

Children Helping Children!!!!!!

Starting June 29th the children are going to start a new rotation entitled, "Jesus and the Children".  The rotation has a mission/outreach for the children to be involved with.  That mission is to help other children in some way.  Therefore, our outreach missions is to collect and deliver some items to the Hematology/Oncology Clinic at East TN Children's Hospital.  We will collect items June 29th - July 27th.  The following is a list of items needed:

SUMMER HATS - This is by far the biggest need for them.  They have boys and girls in the age toddler to young adults.  THESE HATS MUST BE NEW, NEVER WORN, due to transmission of germs.

PLAYSTATION 2/NINETENDO GAMECUBE GAMES - THESE GAMES HAVE TO BE "E" RATED. (Everyone).  They can be new/used.

BATTERIES - Any size.

BOARD GAMES - Must be in GOOD CONDITION WITH ALL PIECES. They can be new/used.

DVDs - MOVIES MUST BE RATED "G", "PG" OR "PG-13".  They can be new/used.

CRAYONS/MARKERS - Any count, new.

COLORING BOOKS - new

The children who come to the clinic have been diagnosed with a Blood Disorder or a Cancer.  So, the above items help provide an activity for the children while taking their treatments.  Some of these children are at the clinic all day, 2 -3 times a week, if not more.  Having these things there really helps pass the time and allows the children to interact with other children with the same or similar illness/disease. 

After having the privilege of speaking with a few of the children with cancer, I feel this would be a great thing for our children and our church to be a part of.

We all need to be THANKFUL for the fact that we have HEALTHY CHILDREN, free of Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Any donation that you could make would be wonderfully appreciated by the children at the Hematology/Oncology Clinic.

Kids Summer Sunday Night Class - On Sunday nights from 6 - 8 pm for ages 5-12 we will have a summer class.  The class is being teached from the book "A is for Adam".  The gospel from Genesis by Ken Ham.  Any adult willing to help out in the kitchen with serving snacks is more than welcome.  Please see Karen Gillespie if you are interested.

Wednesday night CLUBKID Program - (K - 2nd Grade) needs sub teachers, contact Pam Drummer.
